ExCode · First project
Your first project.
Your first agent.
ExCode is free during early development. Use it to direct AI work and verify changes across your existing Xcode projects.
Bring the tools your project needs
Use macOS 15 or later. Install an Xcode version that supports your project and its target devices. ExCode starts the installed Xcode tools directly.
Install any coding agents you want to use. Their usual sign-in, approval, and usage terms apply. ExCode does not include an agent subscription.
Open a project and start an agent
- Open ExCode and add your Xcode project or workspace from the project list.
- Select the project, target, and device. Keep the existing scheme and configuration, or choose the settings your project needs.
- Press Command + Shift + Y to open the lower workbench.
- Open the terminal plus menu and choose an installed agent. Start a new session, then give the agent a clear task.
- Use the agent’s own approval controls as it changes your project files.
Review the change and verify the app
Open Git to inspect the changed files and diff. Ask the agent for corrections where needed. Choose the target and device, then press Command + R to build and run.
Open Console to inspect output. Copy Log Path gives the agent the recorded run output for its next investigation. History keeps previous run evidence available.
Keep another project moving
Select another project while the first agent continues. Return to its project to inspect its terminals, run history, notes, tasks, and Git changes.
Working and attention indicators appear when supported agent status messages or terminal bells report them. They help you decide where to return next.
Keep the plan beside the work
Use Notes for requirements and prompts, Tasks for checklists, and Crashes for connected Sentry issues. Review a crash summary before sending it to an agent terminal.
ExCode has no source-code editor. Agents edit files; you direct the task, review the result, and decide what to commit.
